Osa Natural is committed to making organic products from all natural ingredients. Their coconut oil base is hand pressed and is made from fallen coconuts; the result is some of the most sustainable 100% organic coconut oil in the world. This oil is then mixed with lye to saponify the oil, the process of making soap. This simple and ancient formula for making soap is as old as civilization itself. Coconut soap is often referred to as "Sea Farers' Soap." All of the products at Osa Natural are made on the Osa Peninsula, in Costa Rica, an environmentally friendly country that receives nearly 90% of its' energy through hydroelectricity. Costa Rica may become the first country on earth to achieve a carbon neutral footprint, and without the use of nuclear energy! Their soaps and lotions are free of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate, carcinogenic foaming agents found in almost all commercial soaps and household cleaners, including bath and body products. These toxic chemicals are becoming a global health hazard. All products at Osa Natural are all natural and chemical free.
Finca Morpho has partnered with Osa Natural by using their soaps, cleaning supplies on the farm, and for our volunteers we offer smaller size portions of their soaps. We also help by growing lemon grass, ylang ylang, and citronella to trade for soaps and other products. Our recycle program helps them as well by returning the used bottles for another use on the farm. By supporting local businesses we don't have to do all the work to become sustainable. It takes a lot of teamwork to build a village.
