A project we started with the local restaurant and lodges is Leave No Waste, which we have scrap food collection barrels at each location and get dropped off to the farm. All this waste is going to feed our black soldier fly larva project, fodder for our chickens, ducks, and fish. 46% of trash global is organic waste and with a better understanding of how to manage our waste will ultimately lead to less waste and less non-organic waste. By collecting and managing the food waste from the lodges and restaurant we know that there is less of a pollutant being generated in the process of the food breaking down. When food waste is managed improperly it creates methane which is the number 2 pollutant in green house gas.
